Apparently I am busy.
I have three stories going at once. His Brother’s Keeper feels nearly done; but it also feels like a story of quality and importance, and needs the language to match. Much polishing required. The Stalker is just a baby and has some growing to do. And The Edge has decided it’s not a short story after all, but more like a novel. Sounds like work… but what must be, must be. Things to be done. In the words of someone or other, I’m creating lives here, allowing people to live and breathe and speak who would otherwise never get the chance. Give it time; consider it worthwhile.
Sorry about the poetry slowdown, but I’m just not feeling it lately. I still admire and appreciate the views I see on my commute; the beauty of this city and this region don’t get old. I just don’t have anything new to say about it. Que sera. And the other stuff… honestly, I don’t mind the absence of the kind of strong emotion that leads to poetry. Sorry. I’m sure it will be back.
All this to say, content pending. 🙂
In other news, both my current poetry collections Lost and Found and Walk in Beauty are available on the shelf at St. Johns Booksellers, 8622 N. Lombard. Come check us out – the shop has plenty of other local talent on display, as well as shelves and shelves of new and comfortably used books of all types, and an environment conducive to lengthy browsing. It’s exactly the kind of place where you make that one-of-a-kind find that you never even knew you wanted. I know, dangerous, isn’t it? 🙂
